Answering Your Key Questions
Services are authorized and funded by the Regional Center. Regional Center contracts with HGH to fund a certain number of hours for each child on a monthly basis.
Children are usually authorized to receive 1-2 hours of each type of service authorized per week.
We utilize a coaching model which relies on parent involvement, so we do ask parents to be present and engaged for all sessions. Our staff coach families to facilitate their child’s development by applying strategies learned in sessions to situations in their everyday lives.
Your child’s teacher or therapist will arrive at your home with planned activities and supplies. Through fun and play, you will be coached through interventions designed to promote your child’s growth and development. Activities might include art, music, sensory exploration, stories, fine motor, and gross motor activities.
HGH often serves people in multiple programs. Whether receiving several services at the same time or when transitioning from one HGH program to another, we will provide the support you need. Please see our service pages for information about all our programs. For more specific information or additional questions, contact us at 619-938-2850 or info@guidinghands.org.
