Laurie Purcell is the Vice President of Residential Services at Home of Guiding Hands. She has over 37- years of executive level experience serving individuals with developmental and physical disabilities in the San Diego and California Developmental Disabilities Community. Laurie began her career as a Music Therapist at Camarillo State Development Center. In that setting Laurie solidified her belief that people, regardless of disability, could and should be better-served in community living settings. She has been opening and managing community group homes ever since. Supporting HGH’s Mission and Values fits perfectly with Laurie’s personal service commitment. With piano and alto saxophone as her primary performance instruments, Laurie received her Music Therapy degree and credentials through the Conservatory of Music at University of the Pacific in Stockton CA. Laurie is a California native with two adult daughters who have growing families of their own.
