Elected to the Board!

Meet Beth, a longtime resident with HGH and a woman on the go.  Beth was recently elected, for the second time, to hold an important position with the San Diego Regional Center (SDRC) Board of Directors.

“I love that I am back on the Regional Center Board. I was on it a few years ago, and I really enjoyed it. I told my sister Lori, who works at the Regional Center that I would like to do it again. She spoke to Carlos Flores (SDRC Executive Director), and he reached out to me and asked if I would like to be considered for elections again this year. I said I would, and it was brought to the nominating committee. They held a vote and I was appointed to the board.  We meet every second Tuesday of the month. We discuss the State budget, contracts, and caseload ratios. I find it really interesting, especially when it comes to the money. I feel really happy to be a part of it.”

SDRC’s mission is “To serve and empower persons with developmental disabilities and their families to achieve their goals with community partners”.
