Awards & Accolades


2015:

Mark Klaus, President & CEO, finalist for the Most Admired CEO in San Diego.

Over $200,000 special event income was raised to benefit those we serve.


2014:

Respite and Early Childhood Development services expanded to Imperial County.

Integrated Therapies in collaboration with Crimson Center, a comprehensive therapeutic clinic and family support center in Imperial Valley, opened February 2014. The new clinic supports Imperial Valley clients and is expected to support several hundred clients per year by providing a single location for speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy. The clinic provides a resource and sensory room used for family education programs and parent support groups.


2013:

$25,000 was raised for our Sensory Room and Developmental Therapy Equipment for this new and innovative program and over $62,000 in grants were funded for HGH residential home improvements


 

2012:

Home of Guiding Hands was proud to be honored as Non Profit of the Year at the East County Chamber Gala on Saturday, February 4th, 2012

HGH is awarded a $30,800 Community Development Block Grant from the City of El Cajon to rehabilitate four homes, and a $15,572 award from the Santee Community Development Block Grant for three homes.


2011:

Assumed Operations of Supporting Alternative Solutions (SAS), which includes three residential homes supporting 16 children ages 6-22, a Respite Program supporting over 70 families, and an Early Childhood Development Program providing therapeutic and early intervention for children ages 0-3.


2008:

HGH is awarded a $33,500 grant to rehabilitate six homes in Santee through the Community Development Block Grant, Redevelopment Low and Moderate Incomes House Fund.


2007:

HGH receives the University of San Diego Governance Matters Kaleidoscope Award. Residential Supervisor Mary Darr named California Direct Support Professional by the American Network of Community Options and Resources.


2005:

HGH is awarded a California State Council on Developmental Disabilities Community Program Replication Grant for Life Planning and Support Services for People with Developmental Disabilities and their Aging Family Caregivers.
